Yeah, I'd love a set of Ascalon for that old-school, "Look at me, I'm a Tyrian Character" vibe, but I ain't fond of the inherent insignia.
Wish they'd hurry up and roll out insignias to all the old sets.

I hate glads for it stupid looks and will always hate it.Bonus to armor is the best thing you can have no health that will get lost in one hit or useless energy cause i dont use energy skills, only armor.

other than senetial req 13 armour set i find the rest pretty much abt the same..
req13 str is not the way to go ..... if u run 13 str and 16 weapon mastery u cant change ur build much ... restirction is not the way to go in this game
i cant understand why the price of the senential rune is so high i jus laugh when i visit the rune trader everytime
WOW so many warrior with str 13

I generally use +AL vs. Ele or +10AL while attacking. The best things to have on a warrior IMO. You will be attacking most of the time if not all of it and if you plan on tanking (bad choice imo) you should use +10AL while attacking (Brawlers insignia).
I only use Glads armor when I'm farming or using a high energy build. But I generally don't use high energy builds. I'll just play a spell caster for that.
So go with + health or + armor. I suggest + armor seeings how you will be tanking and having more armor always beats having more health or energy on a warrior.
__________
Base Armor is 80 +20 vs. phys. and add a +10 (phys. or Elemental or while attacking) = GG and add in [skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill] = GFG
100 against Physical and 90 against Elemental (with Dreadnoughts)
110 against Physical and 80 against Elemental (with Stalwarts)
110 against Physical and 90 against Elemental while attacking (with Brawlers)
and then add in "Watch Yourself!" for a really high armor level.

I mainly run full glads for most things I do except when I spider farm, there I use Knights/Ascalon
I might try some of the others someday

lol i have a set of glads (insignia) and 2 sets of dreadnoughts, as i play PvE its all just for looks ( Luxon 15k, 15k Dragon and 10K ancient) mods do make a difference on armour but not much of one, you wont be kicked from a PuG for having the wrong armour.

My theory is that its all-around best to use only two pieces of Gladiator: the Cuirass and Leggings, thus giving you a nice divisible 25 energy. That's plenty to do pretty much anything as a warrior, plus you can then get a +1 Mastery helmet, and either extra armor for gloves and boots via Dreadnoughts, Legionnaires, Knights, etc... or Stonefist Gauntlets. If you really find yourself needing more than 25 energy as a warrior, really you may want to re-evaluate if Warrior is for you (...like that W/E using Meteor Shower in an AB yesterday )
There's better combinations for specific niche use of course, but in my opinion this is the most flexible.
To me, the +health armor is nearly pointless, except to show off to your friends how much über health you have. What is it, like +35 extra? When is that ever going to be the difference between life or death, especially when you're trading armor for it??

Either go all glads or all dreadnoughts having glads for chest and legs and dreads for hands and feet is kind of pointless. You get hit more on the chest than anything so either go with an all +AL or an all +Energy. Having both in a combo is kind of a waste.

i have a couple sets i like to use
i have 15k lux (gladiators)
i have 15k prime (knights)
and 15K kurz (dreadnoughts)
i prefer glads for fow especially if u plan on beach farming, +health is really only usful to an extent, if you find you self in bad aggro in fow it really doesnt matter how much health you have you probably will die still, beach farm builds work best with glads and 1 or 2 +armor skills, that way you get the best of both worlds

In hard mode the only thing you will be doing is tanking as a warrior and yes I use 14 defense all the time in HM.

Everyone should check out that link. It seems alota people don't know that your gloves/boots rarely get hit. Extra armor on those areas is pretty much useless. Your chest piece gets hit the most.
|
Oh I'm quite aware of how often your hands and feet get hit, but regardless I see no point in having more than 25 Energy, so may as well get something with some extra armor for those areas, even if it doesn't make a huge difference. It seems way less wasteful than getting Gladiator/Radiant gauntlets and boots, when the difference is 2 energy. Hands + Feet is still a solid 25% of the hits you take. And, as I said, that also frees up the option of Stonefist gauntlets.
Trust me, I wish you could get +5 energy from having just Gladiator boots and gloves and putting the extra armor on the chest and legs, but it doesn't work that way.
